Fancy cooking Yummy Pad Thai!
Fancy cooking Yummy Pad Thai!
Pad Thai, heard this name quite a while ago in a Thai Restaurant when I travelled
to Thailand. However, we have never tried to cook this noodle at home. Last
week, my wife was talking about it, and we thought we may try to cook this at
home. Just a day before, when I got up from the bed and went to kitchen to have
my morning drink, I did notice, my wife was preparing all the ingredients for
cooking PAD THAI. We decided to have our Lunch with this Thai Dish.
Both of us have decided to do a video on this cooking process and share this with others. As I have never done any cooking video before, I was little baffled where to start. Nonetheless, I prepared my camera and started shooting the cooking process. I made this video in two language, Bangla and English. Want to mention that this video shows exact cooking time to cook Pad Thai as none of the scene has been cut or edited on this video.
In this writing, I am going to share my experience about this Thai
dish that I have started liking.
The
whole cooking process takes about 30 to 40 minutes or little more including all
preparation. There are two steps of cooking Pad Thai.
First
you need to make a sauce that needs to be used in Pad Thai.
Thereafter, you need to cook PAD THAI. Following are the ingredients we have
used in the cooking process.
Step: 1 Making Sauce
To make the sauce, you need:
- Palm Sugar:
Always choose good quality of Palm Sugar
- Tamarind
Paste: This is the main ingredients of Pad Thai.
- Fish Sauce:
For good flavour, you need to use quality fish sauce.
You
can get all these from a supermarket. Buy quality ingredients so that you get the best result of cooking this Pad Thai. For fish sauce I will recommend you use Blue Dragon Brand that we have used in this cooking process.
Step: 2 For Making Pad Thai, you need:
- Rice
Noodles,
- Bean
Sprouts,
- Garlic
Chives,
- Lemon wedge
- Coriander
- Crushed
Peanuts and Roasted Peanuts,
- Eggs,
- Shallots,
- Garlic,
- Mushroom,
- Chillies,
- Shrimp or Chicken.
I don't want to confuse you, by mentioning quantity details of each ingredient as it won’t be necessary if you watch this full video of this Pad Thai cooking. Besides that, quantity depends on how many people you are going to serve this dish. On this video, we cooked this for two people. If you have more people at home, you can add the quantity according to number of people you are going to serve.
Before you start cooking, you need to soak rice noodles with warm water. Do not boil this noodle as they will get melted. Once you soak the noodles, you can start preparing for other ingredients and leave them in a separate bowl just like we have shown in the video. I will highly recommend you watch the full video to understand about cooking this dish.
Step: One - Making Sauce:
i)
Use a pan on the stove to start making Pad Thai
sauce. First add some Palm Sugar and stir until it gets melted and caramelised.
ii) After that, add the tamarind paste and stir for sometimes. Then add the fish sauce and cook the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes. Once the sauce is made, you need to put the pan a side as this will be needed when you will cook the Pad Thai.
Step: Two Pad Thai Cook
i) Once you finish cooking sauce, you need to use WOK to cook any Thai or Chinese noodles. You can buy WOK from online shop like Amazon, E-bay or any other supermarket. You need to wait until the WOK gets heated, then pour some oil in it. You can use Corn, Sunflower or any other oil to cook this dish. At first, you cook prawns in the WOK that are marinated with black pepper. You can also marinate prawn with white pepper or soya sauce. If you want to use chicken instead of prawn, you can marinate the chicken in the same way. As you perhaps know, cooking prawn doesn’t take too long. You need to toss the prawn for some time and once cooked, leave them in a small bowl.
ii) Thereafter, you need to use some more oil to start frying Garlic and Shallots in the WOK on high heat.
iii) After sometime, you need to add Mushrooms and Green Chillies with Garlic & Shallot. Fry them all together for 3 to 4 minutes. You can use more oil and use some salt to fry them nicely.
iv) Add some crushed peanuts and fry them all together in the WOK.
v) Pour all the rice noodles that you soaked in the warm water and start tossing them.
vi) Then, add the Pad Thai sauce that we made earlier and keep tossing the noodles. You don’t need to use all of the sauce that has been made. Just use it as much as you think is need for the noodles. Adding too much sauce will make the Pad Thai sour.
vii) After tossing the noodle sometimes, push them aside in the WOK and add some oil in the empty space that you have just made. We use the oil to put the eggs yolk in there so that it doesn’t get stick in the WOK. Once you add the eggs yolk, top them up with noodles and start tossing them after 10 to 15 seconds on high heat.
viii) After tossing sometime, add cooked shrimps with noodles and keep tossing them all together.
ix) After tossing the noodles sometimes, add all the Bean Sprouts and Garlic Chives and keep tossing them with noodles. Beansprouts lightens the noodles and add freshness.
x) After sometime, you need to add coriander and remaining crushed peanuts.
xi) For garnishing, you can add some more oil in the noodles.
xii)
Once the noodles are cooked, you can serve the dish
with Roasted Peanuts and Lemon Wedge. You can also use Ketchup with Pad Thai.
Our lunch for that day was made within very short time. As soon as the dish was ready to serve, I stopped recording and started eating this delicious Thai dish.
If you want to know full process of cooking this delicious Pad Thai, I will recommend you watch this full video that I have created for you. This video shows the actual cooking time after preparing all the ingredients. No scene or footage has been cut or edited apart from Voice.
